2 Merchant Taylors’ Prep School Newsletter - 10.02.2022 Welcome from the Head This half term has seen the return of numerous different events in school, many of which are highlighted in this newsletter. I would like to mention a few of these. Firstly, Will Bayley (Paralympic table tennis player) visited us to inspire our boys in Years 3-8 at the start of the House Table Tennis Competition. Will humbled us when describing the adversity he had encountered in life but how that had made him a stronger and more successful person. He taught us a lot about perseverance and about the need to see setbacks as an opportunity to improve. The photo below shows Will with the Form Captains in Years 3 & 4. Secondly, it was wonderful to have a live version of Young Musician of the Year in our Theatre a couple of weeks ago. Many congratulations to the very impressive performances from pupils at both MTP and MTS, with huge congratulations to Amar Dahele, overall winner (and the youngest winner we have seen in this competition). Finally, it was also wonderful to be able to have the Year 3 & 4 show of ‘Daniel - A Hard Act to Swallow’ this week and to see how accomplished these boys are on the stage. I hope that you all have a restful and healthy half term break and I look forward to seeing the boys back in school on Tuesday 22nd February (the school is closed on 21st February for staff training).
