Crescunda 7

1 Merchant Taylors’ Prep School Newsletter - 22.06.2018 This edition of Crescunda is dominated by Expeditions Weeks, a time that we use for day trips and residential visits in order to enrich the boys’ education at school. There is a huge variety of rewarding and valuable activities and my heartfelt thanks go to our dedicated and hardworking team of staff who willingly give up their time to make these events possible. Last week, we had a very stimulating evening as part of ‘Education Matters’ where we had an open discussion about homework. The summary of what we talked about has been tweeted and put on Facebook (the notes are also in the ‘News’ section of the website). Next week, we are looking forward to the Y8 production of Private Peaceful. This promises to be a stunning performance and very apt in the year that we will commemorate the 100th anniversary of the ending of the First World War. Do book tickets to come and watch the play (we have changed the timing to fit in with England’s football match). The final staff changes for next year that have not yet been communicated are as follows: Mrs Brewis is not returning after her maternity leave but we are delighted that Miss Patel will be staying with us permanently in Y2, having done a wonderful job so far this year; and Mrs Evans in Y1 has decided to return to New Zealand after her recent marriage so we have recruited an excellent teacher called Mrs Doherty for Y1 from September. Best wishes Dr McNerney | Head of Merchant Taylors’ Prep Welcome from the Head MTP ThisMonth
