Crescunda 8

1 Merchant Taylors’ Prep School Newsletter - 06.07.2018 We have had a great end to the academic year and it is hard to believe that the summer holidays are finally upon us. Our Year 8 pupils are leaving and we are so proud of their many successes. They are the first year to leave our school without having all gone through the 13+ process and yet they have achieved more scholarships to MTS than any other year group before them. Their performance of Private Peaceful last week was a testament of their incredible maturity and a very fitting showcase of their many talents. I would also like to congratulate our U11A cricketers for having a fantastic couple of weeks. They are now County Champions and very narrowly missed out on attending the National Finals when they became East of England runners-up (losing by a mere two runs). They also won the Lamb Cricket Tournament at MTS with a nail-biting final, winning by one run. It has been a pleasure to see so many parents at events recently, from Sports Day to Celebration Afternoon to the Y7 production of Midsummer Night’s Dream (a joint production with MTS and a wonderfully impressive evening). We really appreciate the way that you support our school and our partnership is very valuable to us. To those leaving MTP: pupils, parents and staff, I would like to wish you much happiness in the next stage of your lives and ask that you stay in touch if at all possible. I hope that everyone has a really good summer holiday and I will see you at the start of term on Wednesday 5 September. Best wishes Dr McNerney | Head of Merchant Taylors’ Prep Welcome from the Head MTP ThisMonth
