1 Merchant Taylors’ Prep School Newsletter - 14.12.2018 It is more than perplexing to contemplate the swift passing of time and no term seems to have flown by quite like this one. Reflecting on the term, I am so happy at the hard work and achievements of all of our boys and am thrilled with the number of events in which we have taken part. I am really pleased with our first ‘Genesis Day’ which is part of our programme to promote intellectual curiosity at school. The boys in Year 3 to 8 had to research and make cardboard arcade games (inspired by Caine’s Arcade) for boys in Years 1 and 2 to play. This, in turn, inspired Years 1 and 2 to make their own games, ably supported by our Year 8s who led this project. The last couple of weeks have been particularly memorable as we have prepared for Christmas. To name but a few, we have had the Year 1 and 2 production of Starlight, the Nursery and Reception Christmas Concert, the Prep Department Christmas Concert, and today’s Carol Service. My sincere thanks go to everyone who took part in and organised these events. I would also like to thank all boys and parents for their many cards and presents this Christmas. It is always so wonderful to be appreciated by kind words and generous gifts. I wish you and your families much happiness and peace this Christmas. Best wishes Dr McNerney | Head of Merchant Taylors’ Prep Welcome from the Head MTP ThisMonth
