13 Merchant Taylors’ Prep School Newsletter - 09.02.2023 MTP Year 3 Myths In Year 3 the boys have been learning about myths. Each boy found a myth that they wanted to share with the class, drew a flow map of it and practised telling the story to make it exciting for the listener. The boys showed curiosity as they listened out for common themes and features in the myths, and then used these features when planning their own mythical stories. The boys used their imaginations to create and describe their own mythical creatures and heroes, and will now use these characters and features when they write their own myths. Extracts from mythical creature and hero descriptions: The Vyalca was terrifying. It had sapphire-blue eyes like the ocean.
