29 Merchant Taylors’ Prep School Newsletter - 09.02.2023 MTP English The Year 5 boys have been accepted to take part in an exciting collaborative writing project involving over 60 schools from across the UK. The Imagine a Story Creative Writing Project, hosted by the Southbank Centre, asks each participating school to write one chapter in a book that will be bound and published in July. The boys were tasked with writing the 5th chapter, given the main characters, first and last lines of their chapter and worked in small groups to develop their drafts. Then, we looked over all of the possibilities for our chapter and included at least one sentence from everyone in Year 5. Our finished chapter includes magical birds, song lyrics dedicated to all the children of the world and the introduction of the villainous Faceless Guzzle Monsters.
