3 Merchant Taylors’ Prep School Newsletter - 09.02.2023 The Spring Term has started really well, we cannot believe how quickly the term is flying by. At The Manor, the children have been enjoying their exciting topic called “Off We Go!” and they have been learning all about different modes of transport and journeys. The photos show how they persevered with studying their favourite mode of transport using ‘junk modelling’ materials. Afterwards, they then evaluated their model and improved it. The children have also developed their initiative by exploring road safety, as well as using role play to act out different roles to develop their speaking and listening skills. They have also been thinking about different ways in which travel and transport has changed from past to present. The children in Year 1 and 2 have thoroughly enjoyed learning through their topic, ‘London’. It all began with Paddington Bear asking the children to help him to explore our great capital city. They have managed to explore London and have been fascinated by all their discoveries. They have been using the iPads to scan QR codes to find out about so many different things about London and they have been busy developing their artwork, inspired by the Great Fire of London.
