48 Merchant Taylors’ Prep School Newsletter - 09.02.2023 MTP Sports Sports News The Rugby term finally got underway after the frosty weather last week with our senior sides taking on three competitive York House sides. With two wins and a draw, combined with some outstanding performances we are excited for the term ahead and to see continued development across the age groups. We have had U10 & U11 Hockey matches against UCS and St John’s again with some excellent performances, particularly in the U10’s during their first year of Hockey fixtures representing MTP. We have been fortunate enough to make use of the MTS Astro facilities for both matches, giving many pupils the opportunity to test their skills on the larger, more demanding pitches. Indoor senior Cricket nets are underway in the sports hall, looking ahead to the Cricket term after Easter. We look forward to the next few weeks fixtures including U9 Rugby Development Day, Rugby matches from Y5-8, further Hockey fixtures and our first Football Tour in over 10 years to Manchester City!
