Our early years assessments are play-based, and children will be invited to play with other children and with our Nursery staff.
Our assessment criteria are three-fold. First, we are looking for signs that children will take direction from one of the teachers and respond to them. Second, we are looking for signs of sociability, and finally, we are looking to see that their oral language is developing.
We want to see children at this age having fun, engaging with each other and our teachers and showing the inquisitive nature we seek to nurture here.

The assessments are play-based, and children will be invited to play with other children and with our Nursery staff. As a parent, you may wait in an adjacent room or return when the assessment is completed. Assessments usually last approximately two hours.
Our teachers, who are completing the assessments, are very experienced at working with young children and are very good at encouraging children and ensuring that they have a fun time throughout the play session.
A few weeks after the assessment, you will receive an email notifying you if you have been offered a place.
