Writes Gemma Ladbury, Assistant Head
It was wonderful to welcome so many parents to our first Manor Parents Coffee Morning held at Merchant Taylors’ School. The event provided a relaxed opportunity for parents to meet members of staff from across the school, catch up with one another and enjoy a glimpse inside the Senior School.
During the morning, parents heard from Mrs Ladbury, Assistant Head (EYFS), and Mrs Sadler, Director of Academic Inclusion, who gave a short talk on developing independence in children. They shared some practical ideas and reflections on how small everyday moments at home can help children build confidence, resilience and a sense of capability as they learn to do more for themselves.
The session also gave parents the chance to ask questions and share experiences, helping to create a supportive and collaborative atmosphere. It was a pleasure to see so many members of our wider school community come together, and we hope parents found the morning both enjoyable and helpful.
Thank you to everyone who attended. We look forward to hosting more Manor Parents Coffee Mornings in the future and continuing these opportunities to connect with our parent community.
