On Wednesday 29 April, Year 4 stepped back in time for an immersive Viking Day. The boys spent the day exploring Viking life, researching their culture, beliefs and daily routines, and considering whether their fearsome reputation as warriors was truly earned.
They also enjoyed learning about and taking part in traditional Viking games. Throughout the day, pupils examined Viking tactics and strategies, applying their knowledge in a series of practical activities.
The highlight was a lively mock battle, where they brought their learning to life with great enthusiasm, though you may want to think twice before asking them for a demonstration!
It was an engaging and memorable day that deepened their understanding of this fascinating period of history.
