In the wonderful surroundings of Merchant Taylors’ School, Moor Park 10 & More celebrated its 25th anniversary as a key fundraiser for Mount Vernon Cancer Charity, and in particular The Lynda Jackson Centre.
Mount Vernon Cancer Centre is a leading specialist centre providing outpatient chemotherapy, radiotherapy, brachytherapy and an acute oncology service. 5000 patients are treated each year.
The Lynda Jackson Centre is the dedicated Cancer Support & Information Service at Mount Vernon also offering complementary therapy sessions to 100 patients each week.
As a multi-race event, with everyone from toddlers walking with parents to adult 10k runners, Moor Park 10 & More had a fantastic festival atmosphere, with official start and finish zones, commentator, merchandise, professional warmups, as well as plenty to eat and drink!
As always, the pupils, staff and parents of Merchant Taylors’ Prep were right in the heart of things, with more of our boys participating than ever before!
After a very blustery 2025 event, our community was treated to much kinder weather. It was wonderful to see pupils, parents and staff involved in everything from the walking Marches for Mount Vernon (5km or 10km), through to the U7s to U12s boys’ running events, with Old Terryers and Taylors’ pupils taking part in the U15s, and parents running in the 10k.
Certainly, our pupils loved the support of parents and staff at the start and finish, with some parents bravely running alongside their boys on the shorter events. Thank you to all the parents and staff who came to cheer our boys along! Thank you too to all the adult members of our community who organised or volunteered at the event.
We were delighted that the contribution of Merchant Taylors’ Prep to this event was recognised by the School retaining The Lynda Jackson Special Achievement Award for the institution contributing the most entries.
Our boys derived great satisfaction from contributing to the health and wellbeing of others, and this was increased by the fantastic event medals and t-shirts received upon finishing.

We shall all be wearing blue t-shirts or tops to celebrate the success of the event and our participation this Friday, 2nd October with a special assembly and the chance to meet some of the trustees and organisers behind this amazing event. We encourage every boy who participated in the event to wear their Moor Park Fun Run t-shirts and medals.
