Getting Our Eco Garden Ready for Spring
We’ve been busy getting our eco garden ready for spring! The children have been working hard weeding, tidying and preparing the soil for the new growing season. Excitement is building as we begin planting potatoes, beans and tomatoes, along with a variety of flowers to attract pollinators such as bees and butterflies. These plants will not only brighten our garden but also support local wildlife. It’s been wonderful to see the children getting hands-on learning about where food comes from, how plants grow, and the importance of caring for our environment. We’re looking forward to watching everything grow over the coming weeks and enjoying the fruits (and vegetables!) of our hard work.

Signs of Spring in the Forest School
Spring is in full bloom in our Forest School, and the children have been exploring the woodland to spot all the signs of the season! We’ve discovered newts, wood mice and caterpillars, and watched birds collecting twigs and moss to build their nests. Bright daffodils, delicate primroses and fragrant hawthorn blossom are popping up, while bumblebees, butterflies and ladybirds are busy enjoying the warmer weather. Even the stinging nettles are starting to grow, providing a habitat for insects and wildlife. It’s been wonderful to see the children noticing how nature comes alive in spring, learning about wildlife, plants and the changing seasons while exploring, observing and asking questions. Our Forest School continues to be a place of curiosity, discovery and connection to the natural world, spring has made it even more magical!

Year 3 Kestrels Gutter Challenge
Kestrels Class have been putting their problem-solving and teamwork skills to the test! The children worked together using gutters and balls to create fun, challenging courses. They had to think carefully about angles, timing, and collaboration to make the balls travel from start to finish successfully. It was fantastic to see them communicating, experimenting and supporting one another to overcome the challenges. These activities help develop critical thinking, creativity and cooperation, all while having lots of fun outdoors!
