There was much to celebrate at the Parent Staff Association’s recent AGM – the first held in person under the new Chair Arun Koshal. Arun and the committee have brought fresh energy and enthusiasm to the PSA, with a clear ambition to make the association as open, transparent and inclusive as possible.
At the heart of that ambition is an invitation to every parent to get involved. There are spaces available on the committee, alongside plenty of opportunities to volunteer at individual events and activities. Whether you can make a regular commitment or lend a hand occasionally, your contribution will be warmly welcomed.
From second-hand uniform sales to next month’s fireworks display, the PSA makes a valuable contribution to school life. The committee also has a number of exciting plans for events this year. These occasions bring families together, create lasting memories and raise funds – but they depend on the hands-on support of a broad group of parents.
The PSA’s fundraising over the past year has already begun to make a tangible difference for our pupils, supporting projects including a new digital weather station, 3D printers and new athletics hurdles, among many others. These contributions open up opportunities for learning, discovery and enjoyment across the school. We are hugely grateful to everyone whose time, energy and generosity have made them possible.

Parent Partners play a complementary role alongside the PSA. The are Parent Partners in each Year Group who support communication between home and school, help make sure everyone knows what’s happening at school, and bring together the parent voice to inform school improvement projects. While the PSA focuses on fundraising, activities and events, Parent Partners provide another valuable way for families to contribute to the school’s development.
These are two separate groups with one shared mission: to build a strong, connected community around Merchant Taylors’ Prep and its people. We want staff, parents and pupils to feel part of that community, working together towards shared goals and helping our school flourish.
Please do consider getting involved with the PSA. You can connect through the PSA WhatsApp group via this link to express an interest or find out more.
Thank you to Arun, the committee, our Parent Partners and all those who give their time so generously. There is much to look forward to, and everyone has a part to play.
