Varun Paul

Governor since 2021

Varun is Director for Central Bank Digital Currency and Financial Market Infrastructure at Fireblocks, following a 14-year career as an Economist at the Bank of England.  He has an MA from Cambridge and an MSc from University College London.  He is an Old Merchant Taylor and has remained closely involved with the School since he left in 2003, primarily through the OMT Hockey Club.  He is a Trustee of the OMT Society and a Freeman of the Merchant Taylors’ Company and has three young children.
