Writes Jack Denham, Sports and Head of Livingstone
We are delighted to celebrate the achievements of three of our talented pupils from Years 2 and 3, who were recently selected to represent Watford FC in the Premier League Emerging Talent Festival for footballers of South Asian heritage.
This is a particularly special achievement as it is the first time that any boys from our school have been chosen for the Watford FC squad. Selection was highly competitive, with players earning their places through a rigorous trial process involving children from local schools, football clubs, and the Watford FC Development Centres.
The festival brought together some of the most promising young footballers from across the country. Representing Watford FC, our pupils had the opportunity to compete against teams from clubs including Nottingham Forest, Burnley, and Manchester City. Taking part in such a prestigious event provided invaluable experience and allowed them to showcase their skills on a fantastic stage.
Beyond their footballing ability, the boys demonstrated excellent teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the festival. They represented both Watford FC and our school with great pride, serving as outstanding role models for their classmates and younger pupils.
We are incredibly proud of their achievement and the dedication they have shown to reach this level. Being selected for such a prestigious squad is a testament to their hard work, commitment, and passion for the game.
Congratulations to all three boys on this remarkable accomplishment. We look forward to following their football journeys and celebrating their future successes.
