A Discussion on Behaviour at the Manor Parents Coffee Morning

Writes Gemma Ladbury, Assistant Head (EYFS)

Thank you to all the parents who joined us for our recent Manor Parents Coffee Morning on the theme of Managing Behaviour.

The session was led by Mrs Ladbury, Assistant Head (EYFS), and Mrs Sadler, Director of Academic Inclusion, who shared the school’s relational approach to behaviour and explored how children develop important social, emotional and self-regulation skills during the early years.

The discussion focused on understanding behaviour through a developmental lens, recognising what is typical for young children, and considering practical ways that both school and home can work together to support positive behaviour. Parents also had the opportunity to reflect on how routines, relationships, boundaries and consistent responses help children feel secure and develop confidence in managing their emotions and interactions with others.

One of the most valuable aspects of the morning was the opportunity for open discussion. Parents shared experiences, asked thoughtful questions and contributed to a supportive and engaging conversation about the challenges and joys of raising young children.

We were delighted by the positive response to the event and would like to thank everyone who attended. We look forward to continuing these opportunities to strengthen the partnership between home and school through future Manor Parents Coffee Mornings.
